Governing Law: India (Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023; Information Technology Act, 2000; and applicable rules)
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use docuzer, why we use it, how we protect it, and the choices available to you. Please read it carefully. By using docuzer you acknowledge this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
docuzer is an AI-assisted app for chat, document work, file analysis, and exports. AI answers can be wrong — please verify anything important yourself. This Policy describes our data practices; it is not legal advice to you.
We are Shambhavay Technologies, operating docuzer from Pune, Maharashtra, India. This Policy covers the docuzer apps, related websites, in-app help and legal pages, support channels, and backend services that run the product.
It applies to individual users (“you” / Data Principals). It does not cover third-party sites you open from links inside docuzer.
We act as Data Fiduciary for personal data we decide how and why to process, except where a sign-in provider (such as Google or Apple) processes data under its own policy when you choose that login.
docuzer is for users aged 18+ (or age of majority if higher). We do not knowingly collect children’s personal data. If you believe a child has provided data, please contact us via the Contact form and we will take appropriate deletion steps.
We collect what we need to run the Service safely and fairly:
Account and sign-in: email, account identifier, sign-in method, display name from your provider when available, and account status (for example blocked for abuse).
Profile (you provide): name, optional phone, country, city (city required when country is India), professional role, reply-style preference (role-based or general), and optional cross-chat reference preference.
Chat and content: messages, AI replies, titles, timestamps, reply links, uploaded file names and extracted text, drafts, charts, exports, and analysis caches tied to your chats.
Files: documents and images you upload or share into the app.
Device and session: device label, platform, session identifiers (three-device limit), last active times, and devices listed in Settings.
Notifications: push token and timezone (for sensible local timing — not GPS).
Subscription and billing: plan name, validity/expiry, daily character and upload usage counters, add-on balances, and payment/order references from authorised processors or app stores. We do not store your full card number or UPI PIN.
Diagnostics: crash and error logs (message, stack excerpts, platform, and user id/email if signed in) to fix problems.
Support: information you send through the Contact form (including topics such as Privacy Request, Billing, or Account Deletion).
On-device: small caches (last chat, display hints), font and notification preferences, session keys, and optionally recent offline chat copies for speed.
We do not collect GPS location, your address book, SMS/call logs, or government IDs unless you type them into chat yourself (please avoid doing that).
We process personal data to: create and secure your account; provide chat, AI, uploads, drafts, and exports; apply role-based or general reply style as you choose; optionally reference another named chat when you enable that setting; enforce trials, plans, and daily limits; process payments; send service (and, if allowed, promotional) notifications; manage up to three devices; prevent abuse and fraud; comply with law; and improve reliability through diagnostics and aggregated statistics.
Legal bases under Indian law include consent (where required), performance of our contract with you, legitimate uses recognised under the DPDP Act where applicable, and legal obligation.
We send your prompts, relevant chat context, and extracted document text to AI systems run by technology partners to generate replies and analyses. Fresh public-web grounding may be used when enabled. Processing is automated assistance, not a human review of your matter. Please do not paste highly sensitive data (Aadhaar, passwords, full health records) into chat unless you accept the processing risk.
Clearing app data or uninstalling removes local cache. Server data remains until you delete chats or we complete an account deletion request. Deleting a chat removes linked messages, analysis cache, related indexes, and stored files for that chat, subject to short-lived backup rotation described below.
Internet (required); notifications (optional); camera and photos/files when you upload. We do not ask for location, contacts, or SMS in the current version.
We share personal data with contracted providers only as needed: cloud hosting and databases (configured for India-region performance where practicable); AI inference providers; authorised payment processors and app stores; email/support tools; sign-in providers you choose; and limited backup copies for continuity.
We may disclose data if required by law or to protect users from serious harm or fraud. We do not sell personal data to advertisers. Some processing may occur outside India with contractual and technical safeguards consistent with Indian law.
Purchases are handled by authorised checkout (including, where applicable, Google Play or Apple). We keep order references, amounts, status, and entitlement history for support, dispute handling, tax, and fraud prevention. Subscriptions do not auto-renew; see our Terms for refund rules. Billing questions: Contact form topic Billing.
We keep data while your account is active and as needed for the purposes above. Chat data remains until you delete it or we delete the account. Crash logs: up to 24 months. Billing records: up to 7 years where tax or accounting law requires. Backups may linger briefly until rotation. Local cache: until you clear app data.
If you have no active plan or trial for a prolonged period (including about thirty days), we may remove chats and related files after notice, as described in the Terms.
We use encryption in transit, access controls, server-side plan enforcement, device limits, abuse monitoring, and restricted admin access. No system is perfectly secure — please use a device lock and sign out on shared phones.
You may request access, correction, or erasure; withdraw consent where processing is consent-based; and raise a grievance via the Contact form (Privacy Request). We aim to respond within applicable timelines (generally within thirty days unless law allows an extension with notice). You may also approach the Data Protection Board of India or consumer forums as law allows.
You can update many profile fields in My Profile and delete individual chats in Chat History. For full account deletion, please use the Contact form with topic Account Deletion (website or in-app). After we verify it is you, we delete or anonymise personal data we no longer need, except records we must keep (for example certain billing logs) for the retention periods above.
If a personal data breach is likely to cause you harm, we will notify you and authorities as Indian law requires, with a description of what happened and steps we are taking.
We may send service messages about your account. Promotional messages will include opt-out where required. You can disable push notifications in Settings and in your phone settings.
We may update this Policy. Material changes will be notified in-app, by email, or on our website where practicable. The “Last Updated” date shows the current version.

S.1 Plan integrity is enforced server-side (trial eligibility, expiry, daily characters, daily upload megabytes, add-on pools). The app cannot override paid status offline.

S.4 PDF exports may include an AI disclaimer footer. Recipients you choose via the system share sheet are outside our control.
S.5 We may compute aggregated, de-identified usage metrics without identifying you.
